Q: What is capped cellular PVC and why is this better than wood and composite?
A: Endeck’s unique cellular PVC is engineered to have a solid uniform cell structure inside which is completely sealed with a HardCover™ capstock for the ultimate in protection and durability. Our quality deck does not contain fillers or inorganic ingredients and ensures a rugged and durable yet lightweight product which will not rot, grow mold, splinter, or allow termites to take hold and can be recycled at any point in its lifecycle.

Q: What type of maintenance is required?
A: Endeck Decking is virtually maintenance free and is easily cleaned with just the spray of a hose or for stubborn stains, using a mild soap and water.

Q: Does it get slippery when wet?
A: Endeck decking has excellent traction wet or dry with deeply embossed boards having woodgrain texture on both sides.

Q: What about fading?
A: Our Endeck deck boards will outperform wood and composite materials requiring no upkeep with minimal fading. For additional details you can review our warranty

Q: Will termites damage Endeck?
A: Because Endeck is 100% cellular PVC and completely inorganic containing no wood fibers or flours (nothing insects eat or could burrow into), it is impervious to insects including termites.

Q: Is your decking safe to walk barefoot on or allow my children to play on?
A: Unlike other deck materials, Endeck remains cooler to the touch even on hot summer days and will not splinter and is safe for you and your family to enjoy.

Q: How does Endeck stand up to stains and scratches?
A: Endeck decking employs our exclusive HardCover™ technology capstock and is extremely stain and scratch resistant. Endeck is able to withstand all conditions including moving deck furniture, wine spills, or dropping a greasy burger. We recommend prompt cleanup for best results.

Q: Can I use a rubber mat on Endeck Decking?
A: A rubber mat used on top of Endeck decking will cause trapped moisture and leach chemicals into the PVC material causing discoloration. A woven mat made of natural fibers is recommended to prevent this occurrence. In the event that a rubber mat was accidentally placed upon the deck, in some situations exposure to UV light and heat or waving a heat gun on a low setting about 6 to 8 inches away from the surface with continuous motion, may help to alleviate or offset the discoloration.

Q: Can Endeck decking be powerwashed?
A: Yes, Endeck’s rugged outter HardCover™ Capstock will stand up to reasonable powerwashing.

Q: Could mold and mildew grow on Endeck decking?
A: Endeck is composed of 100% cellular PVC which does not support mold or mildew growth. No moisture can penetrate into the decking material which is one of the main reasons marinas love Endeck decking. Spores simply cannot take hold and penetrate into the material. However, if dirt or other debris is left to grow on the decking that debris could grow mold and would simply need to be sprayed off.

Q: Will extreme temperature fluctuations affect my decking?
A: Endeck is engineered to handle hot desert sun to salt coastal climates to the deep snows of the tundra and is even used on docks and marinas due to its excellent performance. Endeck outperforms other decking with it’s limited thermal expansion at 1/16” over wide temperature spread.

Q: What type of tools are required for Endeck installation?
A: No special tools are needed to install Endeck decking. Using the same tools as you would for a wood deck, you can easily shape, fasten, nail or screw without worrying about splits. No pre-drilling is necessary.

Q: What type of fasteners should be used for Endeck installation?
A: Fasteners must meet the specification of the treated substructure used in the particular job. Endeck professional deck plants work well with screws or hidden fastening systems that adhere through the board into the substructure, two every 16” OC (on-center). Color matched screw equivalents are available in GRK or Starborn/Headcote. Hidden fasteners can be used for a sleek finish. Tiger Claw® TC-35, Hid-Fast, Camo®, or similar equivalents can be used. Consult with the fastener manufacturer to ensure compatibility.

Q: How far should the joist spacing be?
A: We advise for 16” spacing between joists for residential applications and 12” for commercial.

Q: What size deck boards are available?
A: Endeck is a 1” x 5.5” capped cellular PVC deck board that is available in 12’, 16’ and 20’ lengths.

Q: How is my fence put together?
A:Enduris PVC fences are typically assembled by routed holes. This provides a neighbor friendly product, free from unsightly brackets and fasteners, and avoids corrosion issues.

Our capped cellular Endwood luxury line of fences install just like a wood fence with steel reinforced rails mounted onto posts (bracketed or routed systems available) and individual pickets nailed into the rails for a truly resilient fence that looks amazingly just like real wood, yet have a limited lifetime warranty and a 30 year stain and fade warranty.

Q: What does neighbor friendly mean?
A:A neighbor friendly fence offers the same great view from each side thereby eliminating the deliberation over who gets to enjoy the “good side”. The result is a fence that is not only attractive to you but to your neighbor, and neighborhood as well. Your neighbors will appreciate your respectful fence etiquette when you opt for an Enduris PVC fence.

Q: Will my Home Owners Association (HOA) approve of a PVC vinyl fence?
A:PVC fence popularity is growing immensely as people are switching over to wood alternatives. In fact, more and more homeowner associations now prefer PVC to wood. If in doubt, we recommend contacting your HOA to determine what is acceptable in your area. Pay particular attention to the maximum and minimum heights, the style, and the guides for fence placement.

Q: How are your Enduris PVC fences manufactured?
A:Through an advanced two-layer process (Co-extrusion) we add a super tough protective layer called “Capstock” which contains substantial amounts of UV inhibitors (Ti02 – titanium dioxide), impact modifiers, and stabilizers to create high density, resilient outer shell. The outer layer is optimized for weatherability and aesthetics, while the internal layer is built for strength, ensuring the highest quality and durability, as well as providing a limited lifetime guarantee.

Q: How are your Endwood Capped Cellular PVC fences made?
A:Our Endwood fences are manufactured in the same manner as our Enduris PVC fences noted above. However, Endwood fences also have a uniform cellular core in addition to textured embossing which is what makes Endwood look and feel so much like real wood.

Q: What are U-Channels and why are these important to have on my PVC privacy fence?
A:An extremely important part of privacy fence sections often ignored are the U-Channels. Our fence privacy sections include U-Channels which not only eliminate gaps adding a professional touch yet also add strength to each section thereby increasing your overall wind load.

Q: Will your PVC fence yellow or deteriorate like some plastic resin furniture and fencing?
A:Enduris uses a precise blend of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and premium grade stabilizers and UV inhibitors which prevents ultraviolet degradation and assures minimal fading.

Q: How will your fences stand up to wear and tear and the elements?
A:We adhere to the strictest tolerances in the US providing excellent wind load ratings, superior durability and impact resistance. Our fence styles withstand extreme climate conditions and will not rust, mildew, crack, flake, corrode, curl, spread fire, or invite termites into your home.

Q: How long will my fence last? Does it come with a warranty?
A:Enduris fences are manufactured to withstand the elements of time and include the industries best warranties which are transferable.

Q: Does my fence require any special care?
A:While Enduris PVC fence products are durable and can withstand substantial wind loads and impact, they will require proper caution when operating lawn care equipment nearby as direct contact could cause scratches or damage. However, in most cases, small scratches from repeated hits with a weed eater can be easily rubbed out with steel wool.

Q: How are fence posts put in the ground?
A:It depends on the soil. In certain parts of the country dirt can be packed around the post if the hole is deep enough. Although, cement is recommended in a hole which is dug twice the diameter of the post. Some installers route the bottom of the post so cement can flow into the post.

Q: What is the cost of a vinyl fence compared to a similar design in wood?
A:The cost of material is approximately two times that of wood. However, you must consider installed cost. There is no filling, sanding, painting, especially railing products. And, no maintenance is required for a lifetime.

Q: Is vinyl fence graffiti proof?
A:While not graffiti proof, vinyl fence is very easily cleaned. In most cases, mild detergent and water will work. Difficult, soiled stains can be treated with stronger cleaning agents as long as wiped with water after the removal of grime.

Q: How are your PVC products made?
A: The ingredients to make PVC vinyl are mixed, heated and co-extruded into lineals similar to lumber. These pieces are cut to size, holes are routed and assembled to the desired fence style.

Q: What raw materials are used in Enduris’ PVC products?
A: An advanced mixture of polyvinyl chloride, stabilizers, colorants, UV inhibitors and impact modifiers.

Q: Does vinyl expand or contract?
A: Vinyl expands and contracts because of heat, unlike wood which expands because of moisture. A contractor will allow for expansion or contraction in the installation process.

Q: Will my PVC fence, deck or railing mildew?
A: Mildew grows on organic materials and vinyl is a non-organic material. Mildew, will, however, attach to dirt if the vinyl is not cleaned.

Q: What is the best method to clean your PVC fence, decking, and railing products?
A: Our products require little to no maintenance and usually just a spray with a hose will do. However, you can use mild detergent and water . More stubborn stains can be removed with Simple Green.

Q: Can vinyl be painted?
A: Enduris PVC products come in a variety of colors and are designed to add beauty to a home and last a lifetime thus do not require painting. PVC products can be painted with water based paint, yet we do not recommend this as it will void the warranty. The exception to this is for our Endeck deck boards which have the option of adding deck fascia to finish off the edges of the deck or opting for a color matched paint to touch up the cut deck ends.

Q: Are your product made in the USA?
A: Rest assured that Enduris products are all manufactured by us right here in the USA with quality raw materials from US sources. We never use mystery materials from overseas.

Q: What is chalking?
A: All vinyl will chalk. Chalking is the oxidation of the vinyl surface, exposing Ti02 particles to the elements and especially direct sunlight.

Q: What effect does PVC vinyl have on the environment?
A: Enduris PVC products are safe and do not support combustion. They will not break down and have adverse effects on the environment. No trees were cut down, and PVC is 100% recyclable at any point in its lifecycle.

Q: Are your Enrail railing products code approved?
A: Yes, our PVC railing is code approved (ASTM CCRR 0107), exceeding stringent ASTM criteria far surpassing what others note as “code compliant”.

Q: What colors are available?
A: Our railing is available in white, tan and khaki.

Q: Can your railing be installed in concrete such as areas around swimming pools?
A: Yes, by core drilling into the concrete and inserting concrete through a post tower mount. The PVC post is then slid over the tower mount.

Q: Do you recommend Enrail railing be installed on stairs or angles?
A: Yes, Enrail is easily adaptable to stairs and angles. Stair kits have specially routed holes to accept a variety of stair angles.

Q: Can Enrail be used in ADA applications?
A: Enrail may be used in conjunction with ADA approved hardware to meet ADA guidelines. Always review ADA requirements to ensure guidelines are met.

Q: How difficult is Enrail railing to install?
A: Enrail with all components comes in a box making your railing project simple. Instructions are included within each box for ease of installation. Enrail provides over 200 skus of code approved railing system combinations with a mix of three colors, two heights, three span lengths, two picket options, and a variety of brackets to suit every need.
